On PS4 at my time of writing this, 23.5% of players have earned the trophy for finishing the second-to-last world, but only 1.5% of players have actually finished the game.
It is by far the hardest level in the game, and took me over an hour to beat, despite being very good at the game by that point. It requires constant aim adjustment and some precise platforming that doesn't quite jive with the speedy and floaty nature of the game overall. It is easily 3 or 4 times as long as the longest of the other levels, and is essentially a three stage boss fight with escalating difficulty. Thirdly, and one of the biggest issues, is the final level. On that note, lasers in particular feel like they hit you too easily, like your hitbox is just a little too large. A few levels also felt slightly unfair, with obstacles that are hard to predict. Some levels I would breeze through first try, even well into the later worlds, and others would be a stiff challenge. Secondly, it's fairly inconsistent in terms of difficulty. I would have liked the degree of side and back movement to be increased. For most levels this isn't a big problem, but it's a pain on a few. This wouldn't be so bad, except that almost all your movement potential is forward, with sides and back being severely limited, so you really need to look where you're going. You do a lot of jumping, and it's annoying to have to jump back and forth with your thumb. It's fast-paced and a lot of fun to play, but it isn't without its issues.įirstly, the controls aren't quite ideal, especially on PS4 where you have to move your thumb regularly from the jump button (X) to the right stick to look around. in addition, you can unlock special abilities (double jump, slow time, limited jetpack, etc.) with points you gain by playing well. The levels get crazier and more difficult as you go, and each of the 9 worlds (not including the Halloween and Christmas bonus worlds) has its own theme.
